Artist Statement
I've been creating paintings, watercolors and drawings in my Atlanta area studio for over 12 years. My primary interest is landscape-based imaginary realism including the natural and built environments. Humor, ambiguity, unexpected spatial qualities and juxtapositions of unlike things weave their way into these compositions.
By using invented, modified and/or real subject elements in my composition, I can create my own personal vision of reality. This is a stage where memory and imagination both twist and play with our experience in the real world. So, large and small, now and then, night and day mingle in these worlds, often revealing or double vision: what we really see and what our mind's eye sees, simultaneously.
