Statement
Wood is such a warm, inviting material to cut, shape, carve, texture and color. Many lathe-turned forms beg to be altered and reshaped into fanciful objects. Work in my wall sculptures series is the result of playing with the concept of turned and cut-apart forms. In my other work, I combine turned objects with carved forms to create sculpture. The limitation of using the lathe to create art is a challenge I thoroughly enjoy!
